I have been in and around aquatics for the past 20 years. I spent seven years as an Aquatics Director at a YMCA in a suburb 30 miles west of Chicago. While there, I developed a "Swim Academy" for kids from 5-18 years old. About 2 1/2 years ago, I moved to Indianapolis and worked at a YMCA as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and swim coach. The summer of 2023, my wife and I moved to Spartanburg. Here I teach kids and adults to swim.

As a coach, I strive to bring lots of positive energy to the team. I believe practice should be fun where everyone tries their best. My goal is to instill a lifelong love of swimming.

I grew up around water doing swim lessons and swim team. I swam 11 years of summer league and 10 years of year round swim. For the last three and a half years I have been coaching and teaching swim lessons of all skill levels. I've always looked at teaching and coaching as an opportunity to make swimming as fun as it was for me when I was a kid. I'm super excited to work with everyone this summer and to have a blast!!

Olivia is a rising junior at Converse University and is planning to major in Psychology.

Olivia has worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor for the City of Spartanburg for the past three years and has helped build the confidence of several Spartanburg County youth, as they overcome their fear of water.

Olivia is extremely passionate about helping others and is very involve in community activities. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, swimming, going to the lake, kayaking, and listening to music.

I'm Karter Glymph. I'm looking forward to being your coach this season. We will use my knowledge from swimming with Spartan High to have a fun and exciting swim season. Go Tiger Sharks!

My name is Anna Vidrine and I attend Spartanburg High School. I have been swimming since the age of 5 with the summer swim league, and continued swimming on the Spartanburg High School swim team. I look forward to helping swimmers improve and enjoy swimming as much as I do!

My name is Samson Mumber. I am a medical student at VCOM in the Class of 2027 and a former NCAA D1 swimmer for the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. I swam competitively for 11 years of my life and also served as a student coach for UNC Swimming and Diving for a short time after my swimming career. I always cherished my early club coaches that taught me to swim, and I hope to have the same impact on the Tiger Sharks! 

Hi! My name is Emily Schroeder. I am a student at VCOM Carolinas pursuing my DO degree. Before moving to Spartanburg for school, I was a competitive swimmer for 18 years. I swam on teams from levels of my community swim league to NCAA D1. While competing for my college, Saint Louis University, I also coached a community swim team and gave swim lessons to children of all ages! I feel so lucky for the opportunity to work with the awesome Tiger Shark Swimmers!
